If you like beets, you\u2019ll love this recipe.
\nFor those who don\u2019t like beets, they may just change their minds!<\/p>\n

Ingredients
\n2 tablespoons canola oil
\n1 small onion, chopped
\n1 clove garlic, minced
\n1 1\/2 teaspoons cumin seed
\n2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
\n5 medium beets, peeled and quartered
\n2 tomatoes \u2013 peeled, seeded and chopped
\n1 1\/2 cups water
\n1 teaspoon salt<\/p>\n

Directions
\n1 Heat a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Pour in oil and saute
\nonion and garlic until translucent. Mix in cumin seed and saute an
\nadditional 2 minutes. Sprinkle in flour and saute 1 minute more.<\/p>\n

2 Stir in beets, tomatoes, water, and salt. Reduce heat to low, cover
\npan with lid, and allow to simmer 30 to 45 minutes, until beets are tender.<\/p>\n
